La galerie d'art contemporain Eponyme ouvre ses portes en février 2005 avec pour principe propre à son nom d’être investie par l’univers des artistes qu’elle reçoit. À chaque exposition, la galerie devient un nouvel espace de diffusion déterminé par son occupant dont elle endosse l’identité.

Le positionnement géographique de la galerie en plein centre de Bordeaux, dans une rue piétonne au cœur du quartier historique rend favorable l’accessibilité au grand public.

Avec pour ligne directrice l’art contemporain, Eponyme galerie accueille dans ses murs une œuvre riche de la diversité des artistes qui la composent. Les pratiques plastiques s’alternent et se complètent au fil des expositions : peinture, photographie, vidéo, dessin, installation, performance sont présentés dans l’espace.

En présentant des artistes dont la création évolue entre critique et lyrisme Eponyme participe à la vie culturelle et affirme l'art est avant tout, un engagement.

Eponyme effectue un suivi des artistes qu’elle présente notamment en exposant régulièrement leurs oeuvres. Les expositions se succèdent à un rythme de quatre à cinq semaines.

Depuis 2008, la galerie Eponyme a créé les éditions Eponyme qui complètent la diffusion des œuvres.

Eponyme gallery opened its doors in February 2005 with the principle particular to its name “eponymous” to be vested in the universe of the displayed artists. For each exhibit, the gallery becomes a new viewing space determined by its host for which it adopts his or her identity.

The location of the gallery in the middle of downtown Bordeaux, in a pedestrian-only street, in the heart of the historical district, facilitates its access to a large public.

With contemporary art as its guideline, Eponyme gallery welcomes a diverse and rich artwork. The plastic arts alternate and complement each other throughout the exhibits: painting, photography, video, drawing, installation, performance are presented in this space.

By producing artists whose creation evolves between criticism and lyricism, Eponyme gallery participates in the cultural life and states that art is foremost an involvement.

Eponyme proceeds with a follow-up of the artists it presents notably by regularly displaying their artwork. The exhibits come in succession at a rapid rhythm: every four to five weeks.

Since 2008, Eponyme gallery has created the editions Eponyme, a publishing service, which completes the diffusion of the artwork.
